End of the month update

I didn't get as much done as I wanted to this month.  My eyes are giving me problems and not wanting to stay focused when *I* want them too.  Part, if not all, of it can probably be blamed to allergies.  Our rain hasn't helped.  I can't believe we have had so much rain.  Everything is so damp.  Even my medicine was stuck to other pills in my weekly pill dispenser.  It will get better and I'm not in danger so it isn't as bad.  It is what it is and life goes on.  :)

So what have I finished this month?  I'm actually not sure.  I haven't done my blackwork for  a couple of weeks since my eyes were bothering me.   I am crocheting hot pads in various sizes to use up whatever leftover yarn I find.  As mom would say, keep the fingers working while you can.  So if my eyes don't want me to stitch on Blackwork, then I can crochet pot holders.

I am working on a block to send to a friend.  That is hard on the hands sometimes since there are places where I have to go through 3 layers of fabric.  Still I am making great progress on it.  It will end up being a very small wall hanging or a smallish candle mat or larger mug rug or....yeah, I don't have an idea what the final product will be.  I am almost ready to sandwich together another UFO.  I will probably stitch it by hand since I don't want to stitch over the applique.  That will be my goal for June.

My list of what I want to accomplish in June has been paired back.  I think I wan to accomplish the following in June.

Keep doing potholders or hot pads to whittle down the left over yarn supply.

   Catch up on Blackwork.

  Do one UFO.

Learn to use a new camera that has the worst instructions I have ever seen.  LOL.

Anything else will be up for grabs.

In addition to that, I will continue to work on my pantry and get it set up how I want it.  There are a couple of SCA events that I need to prepare for so there will also be that.

Have you seen the pix of my new kittens yet?  Here they are.  They are now starting to learn to eat solid cat food.

So that is where I stand at the end of the month.  How has everybody  been?  Anybody working on anything?

One last piece of advice before I sign off....

There be kittens!

Yes that is right.  Since I can't remember if I told you that I have new kittens so here are pictures of them.  They are still skittish so I can't get too close to them.  They still have blue eyes so that means they are probably younger than 8 weeks.  At first I thought I only had two orange fluffs but then today I saw a 3rd fluff and this time it was a darker fluff.

So without further ago.  Here are the new fluffs.  Hopefully they will make it and be around for a bit.  Enjoy!

Rain rain and more rain

Yeah, that about explains it all.  I am currently in between showers and thunderstorms but it should return this afternoon.  That means, in case you didn't catch it, I haven't done much of anything except take naps, watch for leaks (which I don't have any), and repeat.

Nothing exciting.  The pollen count is high, even with rain, and my allergies are gong haywire.  So I am resting my eyes since they don't want to focus on anything.  I am also cooking some things and rearranging my pantry and semi rearranging the sewing room.  Dan and Zak spent Mother's Day at my place putting together the new shelving in the pantry and a couple of other little things.  Zak said I got to adopt him for the day.  Dan didn't seem to mind.  LOL.

Then this morning, while I was washing dishes, I dopped the dish soap BEHIND the stove.  Sigh.  I can see that I am going to have to put the soap on the other side of the sink top so when it drops it can't go anywhere.  It seemed that I would NEVER get it out from behind the stove.  Of course I dropped it with the lid open so I didn't have a choice but to retrieve it before it al leaked out.  The worst art of that was I had to get on my knees and get a yard stick to try and get it to where I could reach it.  Sigh.  Eventually I got it out and even tough it seemed to take a LONG time, it really didn't.  It took longer figuring out how to get back up off the floor then it did to get the soap bottle.  That means that it is now time to put some ointment on my hands and knee s and relax a bit.  I hope you all have a great day.
