CATCH-UP DAY

Notice that  said catch up and not ketchup?  Although a ketchup day sounds like it could be fun.

This will be a short post since my back is still sore.  After posting I will go and lay down again  and take some ibuprofen.  Before that I have some pictures for you to see.  First up are the thee blocks that Deb sent me.  Some of you said you missed when I shared them before so here are the three finished products.  The top one is more of a candle mat or an extra large mug rug for when I have more than one cookie.  :)

Next is when I decided to organize my charm packs.  I wanted to do something with them and sorting them was the first step.

Then, after that, I pulled out my blues and whites.  I was going to make a charm pack wall hanging.  I had enough white blocks which I trimmed to 4 1/2 inches  went up on the wall and then I had to start cutting blues and sewing them together,.  Like in all quilting, we hurry up to cut so we can just sew things back together again.  LOL.  This will give you an idea of what it might look like.  I need to get more straight pins but that won't take me long,

That's about it.  I hope everybody  takes care and has a wonderful day.

Progress....

This is just a quick post.  I just wanted to post what I have accomplished today.  Yeah, it's not much in one aspect but it is a lot in another aspect.

Without further ado, here is what I accomplished so far today ...

- Made 3 ingredient sloppy joes

- Made Salsa dip (just sour cream and salsa mixed  together but I like it as a quick dip for crackers).

- Boiled potatoes (had some that needed to be cooked or thrown out).

- Made applesauce chicken

- Made Hobo soup. The chicken breasts that I had to use came with the bones so I separated the chicken from the bones and then decided to make a soup.  We used to call it Hobo Soup because somehow giving it that name made it an adventure to eat.  Mom was so sneaky.  She would take her left overs and put them into a soup.  It became a guessing game for us.  So today's Hobo Soup had deboned chicken, shredded carrots, a couple of hotdogs (like I said - leftovers), some spices, some rigatoni and some mashed potato flakes to thicken it.

- Later tonight or tomorrow I will make quickie chickie.

- I  even did my dishes.

Now that I have my cooking mostly done, I can go and pull out the fabric and batting to sandwich my next hexie potholder.  Overall I think today has been a pretty good day.

Update:  - cooking is all done now.  My last dish was Lucky's Quickie Chickie.  I"ll make it again.  I also made some rice so that I can have it with what I cooked.  My frig is now stocked up with food for the week.

August already?

I can't believe it is August already.  Time once again marches on and , once again, I haven't done much.  The temperatures have been running up to 95F and that just doesn't inspire me to do much at all.  Most of my days have been being lazy and staying in front of the fan and/or the air conditioner.  I just wanted to stop by and say I hope everybody is going ok and to show you a new mug rug that I received.  I think it is soooo cute.

I'm sure that I will be using it a lot.

The other thing I was going to mention was that Dan took me out to eat today and also to Walmart so I could get more salsa.  Since I was thinking of Salsa, we ended up at Kandela's.  They have such yummy food.  This is what I ordered.

I would have taken a picture of the appetizer that we had but we ate it too fast.  LOL.  I have enough that I was able to take home so I will eat it tomorrow.  My sugar levels were ok tonight but I'll see how it goes tomorrow.

The only other thing that I have to report is that my  youngest great nephew, Liam, finished his...ummm.  I forgot what it is called, but you know, the first part of his journey in the Navy.  I still can't believe he is old enough to go into service to our country but am proud of him.  :)

I hope everybody has a great day and takes it easy.  Love ya all.  I'll see you next time.
