Do you know how old I am?

I didn't know until a pre teen boy (probably around 10) stopped and talked to me today while I was wheeling out my garbage can to the curb.  It was a relatively short conversation but he asked me how old I was and before I could answer.  He told me I was 95.  Maybe 93.   Yeah, way to go kid.  That isn't making me liking you any more.  Then he told me about his new bike he had.  I told him I liked the blue color.  He was disappointed (I think) that I didn't have anything to tighten the new chain on it.

Then he announced that he was going to go and pet the kittens and cat.,   Yeah you don't do that.  You can ask but you just don't assume you can do that.  So I told him no he can't do that.  The reasons why took me around half an hour to explain to him.  He didn't like the word no.  We'll see how it goes.  I know that the Queen can take care of herself and the kids like to run away so I'm not totally worried about them.

I'm sure that I have more to report but you know us old people, our memories aren't what it used to be.  LOL.  I actually don't have much to report.  I was sick late Sunday and all day Monday so I'm taking it easy today.    I will update again once I get more productive.  Have a great day everybody.

June? Already?

Where to begin.  Let's see.  First picture is of my label that Dan did in Norse Runes.  This is for the SCA Tabards .  Dan has written his name in Runes on one of them, but for the rest of the tabards (10) I just wrote in regular hand writing SoR 1 (through 10).  SoR stands for Shire of Ravenshold).

Next up is a bunch of fabric that I pulled for a new pattern that I might make.  It is called Hip to be Square.  It is a free pattern by Jordan Fabrics.  You can find it here:

Then I found a pattern for a 16 patch patch from Missouri Star Quilt Company.   I have it on order.  .  I do not know if I will use that pattern but at least I got some of the 16 patch blocks put together.  I had put together a lot of strips earlier but never did anything with them.  So I made 16 patch blocks.  If I do not make the pattern (see below and the link if you are interested), then at least I have some blocks to play with.

After doing the 16 patch blocks, I saw another video on YouTube that I liked.  It is a little simpler and uses layer cakes.  I had a good supply of them so pulled out some and here is the possible layout.  I still need to make a couple of blocks..

Of course that led me down another  rabbit hole.    This one is one of the vids from Facebook.  It actually half of a block.  You aren't wasting the rest of the block however, you use the other triangles  for another block.

The other part of the block is called Rotating Bow Tie and if you are interested here is a link to that.

Well that is about it for quilting but I did go over to Dan's to feed his cats.  He is helping a merchant man their booth at a faire as well as selling some stuff of his.  I think he is having fun and even though he is selling stuff, he has found time to add to his SCA outfits.  Here he is showing me his new Russian Fur Hat.

I am glad he is since it is in Indiana  and i 7 hours away from where he lives.  It took him longer because he had to add 1 - 1.5 hours on to his trip since he left his debit card at the gas station  when he refilled  his gas tank so he had to turn around and go back and get it.  I suppose I shouldn't also mention that he took a wrong turn and missed his turn off and took another 30 minutes trying to get back on track.  So don't tell on me, OK?  Hehehe

Anyway, where was I?  Oh yeah, Shalom took me to his place to feed his cats.  I managed to snap a pix of one of them as it was trying to decide if it wanted to eat more than it wanted to hide.  I think this one might be the mama cat who has at least seen me before.

On the food front, I used up a lot of leftover veggies the other day and here is the result.  I had to use up some onions, potatoes, cabbage, carrots, and diced ham.  It turned out pretty good.

That's all I can think of to add.  Stay turned for more updates in the month.  I hope everybody has a great day.
